It's Friday which is generally the slowest day of the week for most people.
I'm not sure what it would be like to have a day slower than yesterday but we'll have to see I suppose. I've already done a Movie Review for the film 'Never Back Down' , added a poll to the site regarding your opinion of the Solid State Drives (please do vote), I've moved a few things around on the site as well as removing some things from the front page. You'll notice that project progress is now located at the bottom of the right column. With more than one project it was taking up too much space at the top! I really do need to do some more photos/images for the drop down slide. So I shall get on them this week.
Jedi Design have a new client as well. The client wants a website to display his portfolio of work. Must be said we are really looking forward to taking this project on as it *may* be one of our few flash based sites.
Quite excited about PC Modding Project 2.0... More details will be in the project blog but to summarise, it'll be based on my existing machine, with a new case (Coolermaster Cosmos 1000), which gives a lot more room for modding. Case is also ideal for water cooling if I want to go that way!
This weekend I'm helping Cameraman Dan move office. He finally has a real place to work. Of course there is a lot to do as Cameraman Dan isn't just a cameraman, he is also owner of an entire video production company and then some. A little like me if you think about all the things he does.
I have my good friend Nick coming to visit tomorrow with his better half Amanda and possibly the kids - not sure yet, sure he'll comment on this post about it though! Looking forward to it as last time I saw him was at the Royal Devon and Exeter and that was only short. Time before that it was at Dominos for a gaming day! Or was it the other way around and Domino gaming day was the last day?? I forget!
Time to go and do some work... Recommendations for a clients install to do by end of day! Won't take long though! |

I thought this movie was gonna be a case "never watch again", however I was very pleasently surprised. What started out as giving all the expectation of a badly remade Karate Kid movie, (kid moves across country learns to fight & takes on other kid who's been doing karate for years), turns out to be a cross between Karate Kid and Fight Club, set in a School.
I will admit it does seem that these kind of School based movies are starting to become a little repetative. I mean take a look at the F&F: Tokyo Drift. Undoubtedly a great film but once again based on the main character having moved from place to place because of getting into trouble racing cars. Ok so the point of focus is on fighting in the case of "Never Back Down". Moving on if we may? There is the usual love interest which just happens to be the current squeeze of the bad guy (who didn't see that coming?). There is the parent who hates the fighting but ends up giving a cheque to the teacher for next months classes. There is the best friend who gets beaten up by the bad guy forcing our hero to fight!
Acting in the film is pretty good - not amazing but then the script is a little salty. You'll prob not recognise anyone other than the Fighting Instructor, Jean Roqua, played by the legendary Djimon Hounsou. I first saw this guy in the movie La Amistad (which i watched in a cinema in London back in the late 90's). The guy is a great actor and it was really really good to see him in this role. Let's hope we see more from the guy soon.
Overall I really enjoyed the film. I even found myself squirming in my seat at the fights near the end. Production quality is great and it will certainly being staying in my movie collection. |

Has to be said that today is dragging very slowly... so far! So far today i've done....
• A network audit at an old peoples home • Exported data from a sales pacakge to excel • Created a new database filter • Updated the Jedi Design website
That's it.... it's just coming up to lunch time now though which is good cos im starvin' marvin as my little boy puts it.
I have a network map to create this afternoon and recommendations to finish off from a different network audit that was done a little while ago.
Apart from that - all is quiet...
Feel free to leave me a comment about how busy you are today.... |

As some of you know, but is not written on my site, I have an Apple iPhone. Consider it an upgrade from the HP iPAQ 514 which served me well and migration of one of my favourite gadgets the Apple iPod Touch.
Recently i've been adding applications (thanks to the 2.0 software upgrade) to my JEDiPhone and thought i'd tell you my top five fav. applications; |

It's been a while since I added anything about the current Project...
I am happy to announce however that I have increased the amount of memory in the machine to 8GB. In order for windows to see this I also had to change the operating system to Vista Business 64bit.
I've also decided that as much work that went into the case, i am going to upgrade to a Coolermaster Cosmos 1000.
I had the chance to get a hands on look at my best mate Dan's and must say it is lovelly as it looks!
Will update soon! |
